Orlando Divorce Lawyer Arthur J. Grossman III, J.D., LL.M. is an experienced, professional, ethical attorney dedicated to protecting your rights and providing solid legal counsel through one of life’s most difficult and stressful situations.
What makes you unique in the Orlando divorce lawyer community?
To the best of my knowledge, I am the only practicing family law attorney with a post-doctorate Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law, which is ranked #1 in the United States and #3 in the world by U.S. News and World Report.
What does that additional education mean for your Orlando divorce clients?
It is a demonstration of my academic achievement, academic excellence, and dedication to resolving conflict that adds value for my clients because I bring well-developed and world-recognized skills in negotiation, mediation, communication in conflict, communication with high conflict people, psychology of conflict and apology, forgiveness, and reconciliation. My clients benefit from my additional education and training with an opportunity for better settlement outcomes and a better overall experience during incredibly stressful family conflicts. As a result of my additional year of full-time education beyond my doctorate in juris prudence, my clients get an affordable, highly educated, skilled, caring Orlando divorce attorney.
Since most cases seem to resolve before a trial, do you also do trial work?
Yes I do. I have trial experience and have obtain advanced training and education in trial work. Many of my cases involve issues that a husband and wife or father and mother simply cannot resolve, so a Judge has to make a decision. I am energized and passionate about trial work and conducting hearings for my clients. As far back as I can remember, I have been excited about persuasive argument. Trial work is exhausting, and I am an Orlando divorce lawyer who counsels all of my clients to avoid trial if they can because it costs an incredible amount of money, time, and mental energy to take a case to trial. For those cases that need a trial, I have the knowledge and experience to try a case effectively.
How does your life experience benefit your clients?
I have been divorced myself. I know what it feels like to be in a marriage in turmoil and conflict. I have had good relationships and bad relationships. I understand the feelings and emotions that many people experience, such as fear, nervousness, embarrassment, shame, confusion, anger, and uncertainty. I have experienced the low points that many of my clients also experience, such as feelings that life is over or that you will never be able to survive with your spouse. I have owned my own businesses and run companies, so I know what is involved from things like products and inventory to personnel and investment capital. I understand what it means to be a small, closely-held business owner.
How are you involved in your legal community?
I firmly believe in the power and effectiveness of collaborative divorce, and it is my mission to make collaborative divorce the #1 choice for family law conflicts. So, I have served on the board of directors for the Collaborative Family Law Group of Central Florida and currently sit on the board of directors for the Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Orange County Bar Association Family Law Committee. I also dedicate a significant portion of my time to serving on Florida Academy of Collaborative Professionals committees dedicated to establishing certification for collaborative professionals, delivering webinar education for legal professionals, and helping other groups located around the State of Florida to enhance their collaborative practice.
How do your clients described you?
I am lucky to have received so many wonderful client testimonials. Many of my clients describe me as:
- Excellent, fair, and honest
- Responsive and positive
- A knowledgeable attorney
- Excellent communicator
- Thoughtful and reliable
- Compassionate, warm, calming, and emotionally supportive
Do you offer free consultations?
I offer anyone who comes to see me a credit towards their retainer in the amount of the fee for the initial consultation. So, someone will call me and schedule an initial consultation. I will meet with them for an hour, listen to the unique facts of their situation and provide them with solid legal advice and guidance so that they can make a fully informed decision going forward. If they decide to retain me to represent them, I will reduce my retainer fee by the amount they paid for the initial consultation. So, in essence, if they retain me, they receive a free consultation.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to play golf. I started when I was 12 when my Mom signed me up for summer lessons, and I have been playing every since. I am also a musician, so I arrange, record, and produce my own music. I also love to learn, so I am always reading more than one book at the same time. My greatest joy is spending quality time with my wife Kiki. I am an Orlando divorce lawyer who feels so blessed to have met the woman of my dreams, who accepts me as I am, faults and all, and who loves me unconditionally.
